WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FALL
/Fall is well and truly upon us. The kids are back at school and how weird does that feel? All the forgotten-about lunch boxes and sneakers, backpacks and notebooks have been bought. The fall real estate market is in full swing.
I expect we’ll see the most normal season since pre-pandemic times. There have been a couple of interest rate reductions already this year, and one or two more seem likely before 2025. So buyers, especially first-time buyers, will be keen to enter the fray. And prices will climb, albeit modestly, which will tempt sellers. So we’ll see more inventory, and a mostly balanced market. There will be competition for exceptional listings (and underpriced properties) but offers loaded up with reasonable conditions will be the order of the day.
I’m looking forward to the next few months. The prospect of business as normal holds a lot of appeal after four years of madness. New agents won’t have seen this sort of calm water before. How quickly they can gain traction remains to be seen.
If you’re wondering how this new market affects your own real estate plans, please get in touch. I’d be pleased to chat. We can bat around some ideas and then I’ll head off. No one needs a real estate agent camped in their kitchen. You’ll call again if you think I can be useful.
