1164 HORIZON COURT
Woodhaven Town Home.
A two-year old townhome that’s still under warranty. Well-built and in a wildly popular subdivision. The future of Kingston is being built out here, I swear. Ten years ago these were open field, but smart construction and design from a range of good builders mean this area will surely age well.
Amenities
Close to the Cataraqui Town Centre and the big box stores of Gardiners Road, including Loblaws and the LCBO. The essentials really are all here. Easy access to the 401 and from there the world. Fifteen minutes to the downtown core.

THE BIG PICTURE
Woodhaven is the mildly leafy neighbourhood that has developed and matured rapidly in recent years, west of Bayridge Drive and north of Princess St, which is to say it’s a scant five-minute drive to the Cataraqui Town Centre and to Loblaws, the LCBO, Highway 401, and some good restaurants and even a neighbourhood pub. You name it and you can get there quickly.
It’s no surprise it’s come along so quickly. Kingston’s west end has come to replace the downtown core for a significant percentage of the population. My parents live in Amherstview, for example, and if I didn’t live downtown with my family I doubt they’d ever venture much further east than Costco. And I get it. I do. It’s not how I live, but then you should see my parking tickets.
I digress. 1164 Horizon Court is a handsome brick-face townhome that was completed only a couple of years ago, so there’s plenty of the Tarion warranty left. I’ve been saying to whoever will listen this morning that it’s as good as new, only better. And it’s true. There are loads of nice builder upgrades here, as well as proper improvements made since the owners moved in – a lovely custom deck and fencing, as well as perennials and shrubs front and back. You pull up outside and your first thought is that this is a well-loved home now, not a just-painted new-build with the obligatory sapling out front.
It’s assumed a personality, in other words. And an elegant one it is, too. The palette is a gracious mix of light and dark - a white kitchen and espresso floors – and windows spread generously across the back wall to illuminate brightly the open plan. The three bedrooms are all a good size and the master has a nice ensuite and walk-in closet. There’s laundry on the landing too, and I think that’s exactly where it should be.
The basement is unfinished but there’s a rough-in for a fourth (!) bathroom, if that’s your need, and ample open space for a nice rec room.
It really won’t last long. I know that’s what realtors say. But I really think it has to be true here. You want a new one of these you’re looking at March next year. And it won’t have put down roots the way this one have.
