ALIEN ATTACK!

Alien Attack!

Unless all the doctors of the world had been vaporized in an alien attack, you likely wouldn’t take an ailing child to see a veterinarian, would you? I mean, your cat’s doc might get the diagnosis right, I suppose, and might even be able to write a prescription that does the trick.

A ROTATING CAST

arnold schwarzenegger

It’s been a rotating cast  across the street from our house. It’s just a little place over there, a squat unappealing little bungalow, wretched actually, at least until our neighbour Lawrence tired of the same antics I’ll regale you with here, and bought it, re-sided it, re-roofed it, cleaned it up, and finally re-rented it.

GANG OF FOUR

A couple of Saturdays ago, I was out north and a bit west of Camden East, looking for the second time at a limestone farmhouse severed somewhere in the distant past from its original 200 acres and now hunkered down, sphinx-like, at the centre of a verdant green acre.

It just might be the best house of its type that I’ve seen. Let me tell you some of the reasons why I say that.

76 ROBERT ST, NAPANEE

$249 900

I like Napanee. I like the linear jumble of pretty buildings and styles along its rejuvenated main street, which seems to me the very epitome of small-town eastern Ontario (and I mean that in a good way), and I like how the town hugs the banks of the Napanee River. That river reminds me of the places in England that I used to fish as a boy. And I particularly like the town’s handsome collection of substantial and well-preserved redbrick homes. Today I was lucky enough to list one of those homes.
